There are three easy ways you can give your dog peanut butter that they are sure to love. These ways to give your dog peanut butter include: stuffing a Kong with a recipe that contains peanut butter, as a sauce on foods and by serving peanut butter in some homemade DIY peanut butter dog treats.

You can mix peanut butter with dog food by making a peanut sauce which will allow you to mix the peanut butter with the dog food more easily.
You can make peanut sauce by mixing peanut butter with dog bone broth or water to thin it out. You can equal parts bone broth to peanut butter to make a tasty delicious peanut butter sauce for your dog food.

Peanut Butter Kong Filler Recipe
¼ Cup Peanut Butter
¼ Cups Shredded Vegetables (Carrot & Zucchini are our favorites)
⅛ Cup of Yoghurt, Apple Sauce, or Broth
Mix ingredients together. Place the Kong upright on a hard stable surface and stuff with the mixed ingredients. Place the Kong in the freezer.
Peanut Butter in Dog Treats Easy Peanut Butter Homemade Dog Treats
Peanut butter DIY dog treats are another easy way to feed peanut butter for your dogs. We love making peanut butter dog treats as peanut butter dog treats are easy to make and healthy.
Being a vegetarian I find it difficult to make meat-based treats so for me I love to use peanut butter in easy DIY pet treat recipes. The added bonus aside from the dogs loving these vegetable-based treats just as much as any treats with meat in them is that they are packed with nutritious ingredients.
Easy Four Ingredient Peanut Butter Homemade Dog Treats
2.5 Cups of Flour (You can use gluten-free flour, buckwheat flour, or any combination of flours or even a combination of flour and oatmeal)
½ Cup Peanut Butter
1 tsp Baking Powder
1 Egg
Mix all ingredients. Place on the counter on parchment and roll to about 1-inch thickness. Cut into shapes. Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until hard and lightly brown.
Recipe Variations:
You can add ½ cup grated carrots or other healthy grated vegetables.

Considerations for Feeding Your Dog Peanut Butter
- Natural Peanut Butter. Natural peanut butter that is either made at home or just contains peanuts is the best choice. There are some brands of peanut butter with added oils, sugar, or Xylitol. You will want to avoid these brands and especially those containing Xylitol which can be toxic to dogs.
- The Health of Peanuts in General. There is a certain school of thought that Peanut Butter, although a healthy treat for dogs in general may not be the best choice for a daily food additive. Some of the most discussed bad issues with peanuts are phytic acid and Lectins. Peanuts contain phytic acid. Phytic Acid, is said to bind to minerals and prevents absorption of iron, calcium, magnesium, and zinc in the human bodies and other mammals making peanuts nutritionally insignificant. Lectins, are also abundant in peanuts. Lectins are known to damage our gut barrier cells and therefore are believed to contribute to inflammation. It is unclear when these negative side effects of eating peanut butter would appear, however, we consider the small amounts in the odd treat safe for our dogs.
- The 10% Rule. Dogs love peanut butter but of course, we are discussing it here as a true treat.
