Pet Valentine Day Statistics

In a recent survey conducted by The Popular Pets  52% of males and 48% of American females between the ages of 25 and 45, would rather spend Valentine’s Day with their dog and 84% of males surveyed would buy a Valentine’s Day Gift for their dog.

Each Winter we witness the flourish of pink as we near Valentine’s Day.  A day which is highlighted by many as breaking the bank buying jewelry and flowers for their beloved, celebrating a SAD (that’s Single Awareness Day) way (or just being sad), dining alone and binging on self-gifted chocolates.

Valentine’s Day History

All of this is to pay homage to a holiday mired in a creepy past that has been updated and commercialized and according to a new survey from The Popular Pets, a holiday that may be better served in a different way, one that includes a dog.

That’s why The Popular Pets encourages you to skip the cheesy Valentine’s traditions and spend the day with a fur-ever friend, reading a book, going for a hike or snowshoe or taking part in any other of the many ideas from Motherpuppin’ Adorable: What to do when your dog is better than everyone else’s.
